Welcome back to another mixed media project. For today, I prepared an art journal project. I meant for it to look like a page from a collector&#8217;s album. Instead of adding texture with a paste, this time I added texture with die cuts. I used the Sizzix Vault Wildflowers Thinlits set and I cut all the flowers out of watercolour paper. I attached them on my pages (I kept a few for later), using Multi Medium Matte as glue. Then I covered everything with a good layer of clear Gesso. When the Gesso was dry, I added colour, using Salvaged Patina and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide inks. The process is the same as always. I sprayed with the inks, I sprayed with water, I left the colours to run and mix, I dubbed off the excess and the I dried my pages. I wanted the background flowers to stand out a little bit more, so I used my Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink pad and I rubbed it directly on the pages. The raised areas of the flowers got the ink while the rest of the project maintained its colour. I used the same ink and the text stamp from the Tim Holtz The Poinsettia stamp set, to stamp some text detail on my project and then I splattered the pages, first with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Spray and then with black ink, always drying between the layers. I darkened the edges of my pages with Ground Espresso and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks and then I thought that I wanted something that stands out a little (or much) more. So I chose a stencil from the Tim Holtz Mini Layering Stencil Set 28 along with the Ranger Black Opaque Texture Paste and I used them all around the edges of the pages. As I said above, I kept some wildflower pieces. I coloured those flowers using Distress Oxide inks as watercolours. I used a variety of green, blue and purple colours, mixing them together and just playing with the shades. Then, I needed to create bases for each flower. I cut rectangular pieces of black cardstock, I stamped them with my text stamp and Lost Shadow Distress Oxide ink and then I roughed up their edges with a pair of scissors. Then, I cut slightly smaller pieces of kraft paper, I stamped them with my text stamp and Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink, I roughed up their edges, I crumpled them and then I added some of my brown ink on the edges and on the pieces, to darken them. I attached the kraft paper pieces on the black cardstock pieces and then I attached the flowers on top of everything else. I used some paper tape on the flowers, to make them look like specimens on a collection album. I attached my flower pieces on the pages and then I decided to use some number tags or specimen tags. These come from the Idea-Ology Field Notes Snippets Ephemera Pack. I used the black sentiment strips and just attached them on two separate places on my project. The sentiment says: &#8222;What seems ordinary is often the extraordinary. Collect beautiful moments&#8220;. I really love these words! Those sentiment strips are stickers, but sometimes they need some extra glue, especially when they are attached on a very textured project. I am a person who like collecting things because I feel like these things carry memories. Often, we associate the memory of a person or a place with things that have been given to us or come from a particular place. Collections have a meaning! So do art journals! Anstatt die Struktur mit einer Paste hinzuzuf\u00fcgen, habe ich dieses Mal die Struktur mit Stanzteilen hinzugef\u00fcgt. Ich habe das Sizzix Vault Wildflowers Thinlits Set verwendet und alle Blumen aus Aquarellpapier ausgeschnitten. Ich habe sie auf meinen Seiten befestigt (aber ein paar f\u00fcr sp\u00e4ter behalten) und dabei Multi Medium Matte als Kleber verwendet. Dann habe ich alles mit einer guten Schicht klarem Gesso bedeckt. Als das Gesso trocken war, habe ich Farbe hinzugef\u00fcgt, indem ich Salvaged Patina und Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Tinten verwendet habe. Der Ablauf ist derselbe wie immer. Ich habe mit den Tinten gespr\u00fcht, mit Wasser gespr\u00fcht, die Farben verlaufen und sich vermischen lassen, den \u00dcberschuss abgetupft und dann meine Seiten getrocknet. Welcome back to another mixed media project. For today, I prepared an art journal project. I meant for it to look like a page from a collector&#8217;s album. Let\u2019s start with the materials I used: Materials\u00a0(If something is not in stock, please simply click on \u201cProduct reminder\u201d\/ \u201cProdukterinnerung\u201d) For today&#8217;s project, I worked in an art journal with watercolour paper and I started with the background. Instead of adding texture with a paste, this time I added texture with die cuts. I used the Sizzix Vault Wildflowers Thinlits set and I cut all the flowers out of watercolour paper. I attached them on my pages (I kept a few for later), using Multi Medium Matte as glue. Then I covered everything with a good layer of clear Gesso. When the Gesso was dry, I added colour, using Salvaged Patina and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide inks. The process is the same as always. I sprayed with the inks, I sprayed with water, I left the colours to run and mix, I dubbed off the excess and the I dried my pages. I wanted the background flowers to stand out a little bit more, so I used my Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink pad and I rubbed it directly on the pages. The raised areas of the flowers got the ink while the rest of the project maintained its colour. I used the same ink and the text stamp from the Tim Holtz The Poinsettia stamp set, to stamp some text detail on my project and then I splattered the pages, first with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Spray and then with black ink, always drying between the layers. I darkened the edges of my pages with Ground Espresso and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks and then I thought that I wanted something that stands out a little (or much) more. So I chose a stencil from the Tim Holtz Mini Layering Stencil Set 28 along with the Ranger Black Opaque Texture Paste and I used them all around the edges of the pages. And with that, my background was done! Time to prepare my focal points. As I said above, I kept some wildflower pieces. I coloured those flowers using Distress Oxide inks as watercolours. I used a variety of green, blue and purple colours, mixing them together and just playing with the shades. Then, I needed to create bases for each flower. I cut rectangular pieces of black cardstock, I stamped them with my text stamp and Lost Shadow Distress Oxide ink and then I roughed up their edges with a pair of scissors. Then, I cut slightly smaller pieces of kraft paper, I stamped them with my text stamp and Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink, I roughed up their edges, I crumpled them and then I added some of my brown ink on the edges and on the pieces, to darken them. I attached the kraft paper pieces on the black cardstock pieces and then I attached the flowers on top of everything else. I used some paper tape on the flowers, to make them look like specimens on a collection album. I attached my flower pieces on the pages and then I decided to use some number tags or specimen tags. These come from the Idea-Ology Field Notes Snippets Ephemera Pack. I just placed them wherever they looked good to me. My sentiment comes from the Idea-Ology Small Talk Sticker Book. I used the black sentiment strips and just attached them on two separate places on my project. The sentiment says: &#8222;What seems ordinary is often the extraordinary. Collect beautiful moments&#8220;. I really love these words! Those sentiment strips are stickers, but sometimes they need some extra glue, especially when they are attached on a very textured project. I had some trouble making them stay at their place, but I made it! And that was the project for today! I am a person who like collecting things because I feel like these things carry memories. Often, we associate the memory of a person or a place with things that have been given to us or come from a particular place. Collections have a meaning! So do art journals!
