Welcome back to another mixed media project. For today&#8217;s project, I prepared a moon scene. This is part of my Halloween makes. I started by covering my page with a good layer of Gesso, to create a nice surface for my mediums. I wanted to create a moon so I used the bigger moon stencil from the Tim Holtz Moon Mask stencil set and I placed it on the upper right side of the page. To add colour on my page, I used a reverse ink smooshing technique with Distress Oxide inks in colours Dusty Concord, Villainous Potion and Chipped Sapphire. I applied the inks on an acetate sheet, sprayed them with a little water and then picked up the sheet and pressed it on my page so that the ink could transfer. I used one colour at a time and I made sure my layers were dry before I add more, so I could create that lovely visual texture. After I had all the colour I wanted, I dried the page very well and then I covered it with Gesso again. The Gesso is a water based product and it made my colours move a bit, but that is ok. I just wanted a layer between my purples and the green that was coming next. But first, I needed to make the moon look like moon. So, once the Gesso was dry, I used the Moon stencil, from the same set, and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink to add the details on the moon. Then, I used the Rustic Wilderness Distress Spray Stain and the Wicked Elixir Distress Mica Stain Spray, I sprayed both on the acetate sheet, sprayed a little bit of water on them and then I picked the colour up with the brayer and transferred it on my page. I applied the green colours on the top left and bottom right corners of my project. I dried my page again and then I did some stamping, using the text stamp from the Tim Holtz &#8222;The Obscure&#8220; stamp set and VersaFine Onyx Black ink. My images for today are stenciled and stamped. I used the Thorned Layering stencil with Ranger Black Opaque Texture Paste and I added my rose branches on my page. I left the Paste to dry and then I splattered the page with Wilted Violet Distress Spritz. I love Distress Spritz. It is nearly invisible until the light hits it and then it turns into magic! It is a beautiful product. I dried the Spritz and then I did some more stamping. I used the group of bats from the Tim Holtz &#8222;Unraveled&#8220; stamp set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and I stamped the bats on the top right corner of the moon. Then I used the bat from the Tim Holtz &#8222;The Obscure&#8220; stamp set with the same ink and I placed the bat so it would look like it is hanging from the rose branch. Do bats hang from rose branches? I have no idea&#8230;. but it doesn&#8217;t matter! That is the fun of crafting. I cut the sentiment one more time, out of fun foam and I stacked the two sets for more dimension. The sentiment says: &#8222;I put a spell on you&#8220; and I think it fits nicely with the image of an enchanted moon. I like this song better by Nina Simone than other singers. What do you think? I love creating moon skies! And Halloween is a really good time to do so. Also, purples are my favourite colours! So this might be one of my favourite projects. What do you think? Es ist fast unsichtbar, bis das Licht darauf f\u00e4llt und dann verwandelt es sich in Magie! Es ist ein wundersch\u00f6nes Produkt. Ich habe das Spritz getrocknet und dann noch etwas gestempelt. Ich habe die Fledermausgruppe aus dem Tim Holtz \u201eUnraveled\u201c Stempelset mit VersaFine Onyx Black Tinte verwendet und die Flederm\u00e4use in die obere rechte Ecke des Mondes gestempelt. Dann habe ich die Fledermaus aus dem Tim Holtz \u201eThe Obscure\u201c Stempelset mit derselben Tinte verwendet und die Fledermaus so platziert, dass es aussieht, als w\u00fcrde sie am Rosenzweig h\u00e4ngen. Welcome back to another mixed media project. For today&#8217;s project, I prepared a moon scene. This is part of my Halloween makes. Let\u2019s start with the materials I used: Materials\u00a0(If something is not in stock, please simply click on \u201cProduct reminder\u201d\/ \u201cProdukterinnerung\u201d) For this project, I worked in my mixed media art journal and I started with the background. I started by covering my page with a good layer of Gesso, to create a nice surface for my mediums. I wanted to create a moon so I used the bigger moon stencil from the Tim Holtz Moon Mask stencil set and I placed it on the upper right side of the page. To add colour on my page, I used a reverse ink smooshing technique with Distress Oxide inks in colours Dusty Concord, Villainous Potion and Chipped Sapphire. I applied the inks on an acetate sheet, sprayed them with a little water and then picked up the sheet and pressed it on my page so that the ink could transfer. I used one colour at a time and I made sure my layers were dry before I add more, so I could create that lovely visual texture. After I had all the colour I wanted, I dried the page very well and then I covered it with Gesso again. The Gesso is a water based product and it made my colours move a bit, but that is ok. I just wanted a layer between my purples and the green that was coming next. But first, I needed to make the moon look like moon. So, once the Gesso was dry, I used the Moon stencil, from the same set, and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide ink to add the details on the moon. Then, I used the Rustic Wilderness Distress Spray Stain and the Wicked Elixir Distress Mica Stain Spray, I sprayed both on the acetate sheet, sprayed a little bit of water on them and then I picked the colour up with the brayer and transferred it on my page. I applied the green colours on the top left and bottom right corners of my project. I dried my page again and then I did some stamping, using the text stamp from the Tim Holtz &#8222;The Obscure&#8220; stamp set and VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I used Black Soot Distress Oxide ink to darken the edges of the page and the background was done. So, let&#8217;s keep going!!! My images for today are stenciled and stamped. I used the Thorned Layering stencil with Ranger Black Opaque Texture Paste and I added my rose branches on my page. I left the Paste to dry and then I splattered the page with Wilted Violet Distress Spritz. I love Distress Spritz. It is nearly invisible until the light hits it and then it turns into magic! It is a beautiful product. I dried the Spritz and then I did some more stamping. I used the group of bats from the Tim Holtz &#8222;Unraveled&#8220; stamp set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and I stamped the bats on the top right corner of the moon. Then I used the bat from the Tim Holtz &#8222;The Obscure&#8220; stamp set with the same ink and I placed the bat so it would look like it is hanging from the rose branch. Do bats hang from rose branches? I have no idea&#8230;. but it doesn&#8217;t matter! That is the fun of crafting. We do not need to be realistic! My sentiment is cut with the Sizzix Bold Text Halloween Thinlits set out of black glitter cardstock. I cut the sentiment one more time, out of fun foam and I stacked the two sets for more dimension. The sentiment says: &#8222;I put a spell on you&#8220; and I think it fits nicely with the image of an enchanted moon. I like this song better by Nina Simone than other singers. What do you think? After the sentiment was placed on my page, I used Black Soot Distress Oxide ink with a stiff brush, to add some shadows under the letters, and then I used a white Gelly Roll pen, to add some highlights. And that was the project for today! I love creating moon skies! And Halloween is a really good time to do so. Also, purples are my favourite colours! So this might be one of my favourite projects.
