Merry Christmas! Welcome back to another mixed media project. For today, I prepared a fun idea for a tree ornament or a gift. I know there are a lot of this type of projects going around the internet, but I wanted to make them myself. These can be found just about everywhere. Mine come from OBI, if I remember correct (I had them for about two years before I decide to use them\u2026). The backgrounds are pretty easy to be done. But, I had to sand the wood slices first. So, I recruited my husband and his wood work tools, we sanded the wood slices and added holes to them. Then all I did was add the paint. I used Barn Door, Brocken China, Rustic Wilderness and Candied Apple Distress Paint. I left the paint to dry and then I added little dots of White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops all around the painted areas. I used the Sizzix Holiday Brushstroke #2 Thinlits set along with coloured cardstock and I cut some greenery and some red berries. Tow of my greenery branches were supposed to have white berries on them (they were mistletoe). Instead of the white berries, I added dots of Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops. They are heat embossed on the wood slices, with WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder. I used the same phrase on all of them. It says: &#8222;Have a Merry Christmas&#8220;. What a better wish than this for the Christmas season? With the sentiments in place, I added some twine through the holes and then I added my decorations on the top of the wood slices. I also used some of the Idea-Ology Tiny Bells, I threaded some wire through the loops on their tops and I used the wire to attach them on the twine. I have learned a few things through the process of making these wood slices. Like, how to use power tools to sand wood because my embossing powder was sticking everywhere on the rough wood surface \ud83d\ude1b I had a lot of fun making these little ornaments! Meine sind von OBI, wenn ich mich recht erinnere (ich hatte sie etwa zwei Jahre lang, bevor ich mich entschied, sie zu verwenden \u2026). Die Hintergr\u00fcnde sind ziemlich einfach zu machen. Aber ich musste die Holzscheiben zuerst glattschleifen. Also habe ich meinen Mann und seinen Exzenterschleifer rekrutiert. Wir haben die Holzscheiben geschliffen und L\u00f6cher hineingebohrt. Dann habe ich nur noch die Farbe aufgetragen. Ich habe Barn Door, Brocken China, Rustic Wilderness und Candied Apple Distress Paint verwendet. Ich habe die Farbe trocknen lassen und dann kleine Punkte White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops rund um die bemalten Bereiche hinzugef\u00fcgt. Ich habe das Sizzix Holiday Brushstroke #2 ThinlitscSet zusammen mit farbigem Karton verwendet und etwas Gr\u00fcnzeug und rote Beeren ausgeschnitten. Zwei meiner gr\u00fcnen Zweige sollten wei\u00dfe Beeren haben (sie waren Mistelzweige). Anstelle der wei\u00dfen Beeren habe ich Punkte aus Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops hinzugef\u00fcgt. Welcome back to another mixed media project. For today, I prepared a fun idea for a tree ornament or a gift. I know there are a lot of this type of projects going around the internet, but I wanted to make them myself. These can be found just about everywhere. Mine come from OBI, if I remember correct (I had them for about two years before I decide to use them\u2026). The backgrounds are pretty easy to be done. But, I had to sand the wood slices first. So, I recruited my husband and his wood work tools, we sanded the wood slices and added holes to them. Then all I did was add the paint. I used Barn Door, Brocken China, Rustic Wilderness and Candied Apple Distress Paint. I left the paint to dry and then I added little dots of White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops all around the painted areas. And just like that, my background were done! Time to prepare the decorations for the wood slices. I used the Sizzix Holiday Brushstroke #2 Thinlits set along with coloured cardstock and I cut some greenery and some red berries. Tow of my greenery branches were supposed to have white berries on them (they were mistletoe). Instead of the white berries, I added dots of Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops. I left everything aside to dry while I was finishing the wood slices. My sentiments come from the Tim Holtz Holiday Whatnots stamp set. They are heat embossed on the wood slices, with WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder. I used the same phrase on all of them. It says: &#8222;Have a Merry Christmas&#8220;. What a better wish than this for the Christmas season? With the sentiments in place, I added some twine through the holes and then I added my decorations on the top of the wood slices. I also used some of the Idea-Ology Tiny Bells, I threaded some wire through the loops on their tops and I used the wire to attach them on the twine. Then I covered all of these mechanics with nice, big bows of ribbon. And that was the project for today! I have learned a few things through the process of making these wood slices. Like, how to use power tools to sand wood because my embossing powder was sticking everywhere on the rough wood surface \ud83d\ude1b I had a lot of fun making these little ornaments!
