Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. I have a new Valentine\u2019s day project to show you today. It is a little on the dark side, but it is about heartbreak, so it ought to be. I wanted some nice texture, so I started by building that. I cut a lot of hearts, using the Sizzix Stacked Tiles, Hearts Thinlits set, and I glued them on the lower right and upper left corner of the project with Multi Medium Matte. I dried the glue and then I covered everything with a good layer of Gesso. Time to add colour and for that I used Distress Oxide Sprays. I started with a little bit of Pumice Stone, just to give a warm gray undertone (it disappeared completely in the end) and then I added Candied Apple and Tattered Rose, keeping the red on the lower right and upper left corner and the pink in the middle of the project. I used my red spray to splatter on the pink areas and the pink spray to splatter on the red areas. I dried everything and then I splattered again, this time with Picket Fence (white) Distress Paint. I wanted these pages to turn into a dark Valentine&#8217;s image, so I decided to add a lot of black. First, I used the Twisted Layering stencil with Ranger Black Opaque Distress Texture Paste on the lower right and upper left corner. I left the paste to dry and then I added some black stamping around the edges of the pages. I used stamps from the Tim Holtz Etcetera stamp set with Jet Black Archival ink. Next, I added more splatter, this time with Black Soot Distress Paint. At this point, my project was dark enough. To add a little bit more detail (because I do not know when to stop!) I used the Valentine Layering stencil with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink on the upper right and lower left areas of the project. As you can see, I made some hearts! I used the Sizzix Lovestruck, Colorize Thinlits set to cut my two main hearts. For the heart layers, I used red and pink cardstock and some paper I had coloured with red Distress Oxide Sprays and Distress Mica Spray Stains some time ago. I wrinkled the papers and then lightly brushed some Scorched Timber Distress Oxide ink over them and darkened their edges. So, the hearts are basicly red but they are quite distressed! I tore the bigger heart nearly in half, making sure the two parts are still holding together. Then I attached eyelets on it and tied it back together with a piece of brown cotton yarn (because I might not have string but I always have yarn!). My smaller hearts are cut with the heart die from the Sizzix Love Notes Sidekick Side-Order Thinlits set out of red cardstock. I treated them the same way I did with the big hearts. For the arrows I used a combination of brown cardstock, gold cardstock and glitter cardstock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.stamping-fairies.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/3-1-1024x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14273\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.stamping-fairies.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/3-1-1024x1024.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.stamping-fairies.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/3-1-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/www.stamping-fairies.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/3-1-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/www.stamping-fairies.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/3-1-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/www.stamping-fairies.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/3-1-1536x1536.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.stamping-fairies.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/3-1-2048x2048.png 2048w, https:\/\/www.stamping-fairies.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/3-1-1140x1140.png 1140w, https:\/\/www.stamping-fairies.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/3-1-75x75.png 75w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>My sentiment is cut with the alphabet dies from the Sizzix Santa Greetings, Colorize Thinlits set out of black cardstock. I also cut the sentiment out of black fun foam and I stacked the letters, to create more depth. The sentiment says: &#8222;Don&#8217;t go breaking my heart&#8220;, the title of an Elton John and Kiki Dee song. I think the whole idea of a broken heart fits nice with these dark Valentine&#8217;s pages, though the song is not really dark at all! I placed everything on my pages and then I splattered everything with Worn Lipstick Distress Spritz. I have been humming this Elton John song for days. Is it a surprise that it ended up in a project? I had a lot of fun, getting inky and playing with the different layers! Give it a try! Wie ihr sehen k\u00f6nnt, habe ich ein paar Herzen gemacht! Ich habe das Sizzix Lovestruck, Colorize Thinlits Set verwendet, um meine beiden Hauptherzen auszuschneiden. F\u00fcr die Herzschichten habe ich roten und rosa Karton und etwas Papier verwendet, das ich vor einiger Zeit mit roten Distress Oxide Sprays und Distress Mica Spray Stains gef\u00e4rbt hatte. Ich habe die Papiere zerknittert und dann etwas Scorched Timber Distress Oxide Tinte leicht dar\u00fcber gestrichen und ihre R\u00e4nder abgedunkelt. Die Herzen sind also im Grunde rot, aber sie sind ziemlich abgenutzt! Ich habe das gr\u00f6\u00dfere Herz fast in zwei H\u00e4lften gerissen und sichergestellt, dass die beiden Teile noch zusammenhalten. Dann habe ich \u00d6sen daran angebracht und es mit einem St\u00fcck braunem Baumwollgarn wieder zusammengebunden (denn ich habe vielleicht keine Schnur, aber immer Garn!). Meine kleineren Herzen sind mit der Herzstanze aus dem Sizzix Love Notes Sidekick Side-Order Thinlits Set aus rotem Karton ausgestanzt. Ich habe sie genauso behandelt wie die gro\u00dfen Herzen. Ich finde, die ganze Idee eines gebrochenen Herzens passt gut zu diesen d\u00fcsteren Valentinstagsseiten, obwohl das Lied gar nicht so d\u00fcster ist! Ich habe alles auf meine Seiten gelegt und dann alles mit Worn Lipstick Distress Spritz bespritzt. Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. I have a new Valentine\u2019s day project to show you today. It is a little on the dark side, but it is about heartbreak, so it ought to be. Let\u2019s start with the materials I used: Materials\u00a0(If something is not in stock, please simply click on \u201cProduct reminder\u201d\/ \u201cProdukterinnerung\u201d) For this project, I worked in my A5 art journal book and I started with the background. I wanted some nice texture, so I started by building that. I cut a lot of hearts, using the Sizzix Stacked Tiles, Hearts Thinlits set, and I glued them on the lower right and upper left corner of the project with Multi Medium Matte. I dried the glue and then I covered everything with a good layer of Gesso. Time to add colour and for that I used Distress Oxide Sprays. I started with a little bit of Pumice Stone, just to give a warm gray undertone (it disappeared completely in the end) and then I added Candied Apple and Tattered Rose, keeping the red on the lower right and upper left corner and the pink in the middle of the project. I used my red spray to splatter on the pink areas and the pink spray to splatter on the red areas. I dried everything and then I splattered again, this time with Picket Fence (white) Distress Paint. I wanted these pages to turn into a dark Valentine&#8217;s image, so I decided to add a lot of black. First, I used the Twisted Layering stencil with Ranger Black Opaque Distress Texture Paste on the lower right and upper left corner. I left the paste to dry and then I added some black stamping around the edges of the pages. I used stamps from the Tim Holtz Etcetera stamp set with Jet Black Archival ink. Next, I added more splatter, this time with Black Soot Distress Paint. At this point, my project was dark enough. To add a little bit more detail (because I do not know when to stop!) I used the Valentine Layering stencil with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink on the upper right and lower left areas of the project. I used Black Soot Distress Oxide ink to darken the edges of the pages and the background was done. Time to prepare my images. As you can see, I made some hearts! I used the Sizzix Lovestruck, Colorize Thinlits set to cut my two main hearts. For the heart layers, I used red and pink cardstock and some paper I had coloured with red Distress Oxide Sprays and Distress Mica Spray Stains some time ago. I wrinkled the papers and then lightly brushed some Scorched Timber Distress Oxide ink over them and darkened their edges. So, the hearts are basicly red but they are quite distressed! I tore the bigger heart nearly in half, making sure the two parts are still holding together. Then I attached eyelets on it and tied it back together with a piece of brown cotton yarn (because I might not have string but I always have yarn!). My smaller hearts are cut with the heart die from the Sizzix Love Notes Sidekick Side-Order Thinlits set out of red cardstock. I treated them the same way I did with the big hearts. For the arrows I used a combination of brown cardstock, gold cardstock and glitter cardstock. My sentiment is cut with the alphabet dies from the Sizzix Santa Greetings, Colorize Thinlits set out of black cardstock. I also cut the sentiment out of black fun foam and I stacked the letters, to create more depth. The sentiment says: &#8222;Don&#8217;t go breaking my heart&#8220;, the title of an Elton John and Kiki Dee song. I think the whole idea of a broken heart fits nice with these dark Valentine&#8217;s pages, though the song is not really dark at all! I placed everything on my pages and then I splattered everything with Worn Lipstick Distress Spritz. As a last little bit of embellishment, I added some BoBunny Bonbons Candy Dots (unfortunately, they are no longer available). And that was the project for today! Ich habe die Paste trocknen lassen und dann etwas schwarzen Stempel um die R\u00e4nder der Seiten hinzugef\u00fcgt. Ich habe Stempel aus dem Tim Holtz Etcetera Stempelset mit Jet Black Archival Tinte verwendet. Als N\u00e4chstes habe ich mehr Spritzer hinzugef\u00fcgt, diesmal mit Black Soot Distress Paint. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt war mein Projekt dunkel genug. Um ein bisschen mehr Details hinzuzuf\u00fcgen (weil ich nie wei\u00df, wann ich aufh\u00f6ren soll!), habe ich die Valentine Layering Schablone mit Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Tinte in den oberen rechten und unteren linken Bereichen des Projekts verwendet. Ich habe Black Soot Distress Oxide Tinte verwendet, um die R\u00e4nder der Seiten abzudunkeln, und der Hintergrund war fertig. Zeit, meine Bilder vorzubereiten. Wie ihr sehen k\u00f6nnt, habe ich ein paar Herzen gemacht! Ich habe das Sizzix Lovestruck, Colorize Thinlits Set verwendet, um meine beiden Hauptherzen auszuschneiden. F\u00fcr die Herzschichten habe ich roten und rosa Karton und etwas Papier verwendet, das ich vor einiger Zeit mit roten Distress Oxide Sprays und Distress Mica Spray Stains gef\u00e4rbt hatte. Ich habe die Papiere zerknittert und dann etwas Scorched Timber Distress Oxide Tinte leicht dar\u00fcber gestrichen und ihre R\u00e4nder abgedunkelt. Die Herzen sind also im Grunde rot, aber sie sind ziemlich abgenutzt! Ich habe das gr\u00f6\u00dfere Herz fast in zwei H\u00e4lften gerissen und sichergestellt, dass die beiden Teile noch zusammenhalten. Dann habe ich \u00d6sen daran angebracht und es mit einem St\u00fcck braunem Baumwollgarn wieder zusammengebunden (denn ich habe vielleicht keine Schnur, aber immer Garn!). Meine kleineren Herzen sind mit der Herzstanze aus dem Sizzix Love Notes Sidekick Side-Order Thinlits Set aus rotem Karton ausgestanzt. Ich habe sie genauso behandelt wie die gro\u00dfen Herzen. F\u00fcr die Pfeile habe ich eine Kombination aus braunem, goldenem und glitzerndem Karton verwendet. Mein Spruch ist mit den Alphabet Stanzen aus dem Sizzix Santa Greetings, Colorize Thinlits Set aus schwarzem Karton ausgestanzt. Ich habe den Spruch auch aus schwarzem Schaumstoff ausgestanzt und die Buchstaben gestapelt, um mehr Tiefe zu erzeugen. Der Spruch lautet: \u201eBrich mir nicht das Herz\u201c, der Titel eines Lieds von Elton John und Kiki Dee. Ich finde, die ganze Idee eines gebrochenen Herzens passt gut zu diesen d\u00fcsteren Valentinstagsseiten, obwohl das Lied gar nicht so d\u00fcster ist! Ich habe alles auf meine Seiten gelegt und dann alles mit Worn Lipstick Distress Spritz bespritzt. Als letzte kleine Verzierung habe ich einige BoBunny Bonbons Candy Dots hinzugef\u00fcgt (leider sind sie nicht mehr erh\u00e4ltlich). Und das war das Projekt f\u00fcr heute! Ich habe dieses Lied von Elton John tagelang gesummt. Ist es eine \u00dcberraschung, dass es in einem Projekt gelandet ist? Ich hatte viel Spa\u00df dabei, mit Tinte zu malen und mit den verschiedenen Schichten zu spielen! Probiert es aus! Ihr werdet es lieben! Ich hoffe sehr, dass euch das heutige Projekt gef\u00e4llt!
