Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. I prepared a night scene for today&#8217;s project. It feels like I am going back to basics, doing the things I like the most, playing with the colours and getting messy. That was fun! This time, I did not start with Gesso. The paper I am using is high quality watercolour paper. I have used it for painting, so I know it can take whatever wet medium I through at it. And I like the way the inks move on it. So, I started adding colour, using Distress Oxide inks. My first colours were Chipped Sapphire, Twisted Citron and Shaded Lilac. I just sprayed with the colours and let them move. I did not add any water. I tried to add a little bit of Stormy Sky and Dusty Concord on top of the other colours, but they do not show as much. I dried the inks and then I added some splatter with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink. I dried my page again and then I splattered it with water and dabbed it with a paper towel. The water splatter reactivates the ink and the paper tower lifts it. So I ended up with some splotchy areas. Next is paste. I did something I do not usually dike to do. I added glitter! So, I used the Hocus Pocus Layering stencil with Ranger Distress Grit Paste, to create the star design, and then I covered the stars with Distress Rock Candy Glitter. The stars are created over the Distress Oxide Sprays, so they got a bit of colour from the page, but they also have a nice shine from the glitter. Next, I added more paste! I used the Stamperia Postcard stencil and Ranger Texture Paste to add some text details on my page. I left the paste to dry and then I splatter everything with Picket Fence Distress Paint (white). Once the paint was dry, I added more text details around the edges of the page, using stamps from the Tim Holtz Etcetera stamp set with Jet Black Archival ink. I used the Sizzix Vault Wildflowers Thinlits set to cut some flowers out of black cardstock. I spritzed my flowers with Hickory Smoke Distress Spritz and I left them aside to dry. To ground my flowers, I tore two small stripes from Idea-Ology Backdrops paper. I used papers from the Volume #5 pack, but it could be just about any dark paper. I treated the edges of these paper stripes with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink and placed them on my page. I wanted some sort of insect to fly around my flowers, so I decided to use (for the first time) these Idea-Ology Transparent Moths. I used a stapler to attach them on my page and then I used my heat gun on them, to soften their wings and manipulate them. The Moths are practically plastic and the heat makes them curl, but also gives me a little bit of time to shape them as I want. I chose two sentiment chips and I removed a layer from the back of the chipboard, to make it a little thinner. Then I treated the edges with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink. I ended up rubbing my brown ink all over the surface of the chip, to take away the stark white and make it look aged. My sentiment says: &#8222;Make a wish. Light the way&#8220; and I think it fits nicely with my night, starry scene! I thought about adding more embellishments on this page, but I think it has enough on it already. It was about time for me to get my fingers covered in ink again. I really enjoy messy techniques! I know it is not for everyone, but it is what makes me happy, and crafting is all about being happy! Ich habe mit dem Sizzix Vault Wildflowers Thinlits Set Blumen aus schwarzem Karton ausgeschnitten. Ich habe sie mit Hickory Smoke Distress Spritz bespr\u00fcht und zum Trocknen beiseite gelegt. Um meine Blumen zu grundieren, habe ich zwei schmale Streifen aus Idea-Ology Backdrops Papier gerissen. Ich habe Papier aus dem Volume #5 Pack verwendet, aber es h\u00e4tte auch jedes andere dunkle Papier sein k\u00f6nnen. Die R\u00e4nder dieser Papierstreifen habe ich mit Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Tinte behandelt und sie auf meine Seite gelegt. Ich wollte, dass ein Insekt um meine Blumen fliegt, also habe ich mich (zum ersten Mal) f\u00fcr diese transparenten Motten von Idea-Ology entschieden. Ich habe sie mit einem Tacker auf meiner Seite befestigt und anschlie\u00dfend mit der Hei\u00dfluftpistole bearbeitet, um ihre Fl\u00fcgel zu gl\u00e4tten und zu formen. Die Motten sind praktisch aus Plastik und die Hitze l\u00e4sst sie sich einrollen, gibt mir aber auch etwas Zeit, sie nach meinen W\u00fcnschen zu formen. Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. I prepared a night scene for today&#8217;s project. It feels like I am going back to basics, doing the things I like the most, playing with the colours and getting messy. That was fun! Let\u2019s start with the materials I used: Materials(If something is not in stock,please simply click on \u201cProduct reminder\u201d\/ \u201cProdukterinnerung\u201d) For this project, I worked in an art journal with watercolour paper, as I was going to use my sprays. This time, I did not start with Gesso. The paper I am using is high quality watercolour paper. I have used it for painting, so I know it can take whatever wet medium I through at it. And I like the way the inks move on it. So, I started adding colour, using Distress Oxide inks. My first colours were Chipped Sapphire, Twisted Citron and Shaded Lilac. I just sprayed with the colours and let them move. I did not add any water. I tried to add a little bit of Stormy Sky and Dusty Concord on top of the other colours, but they do not show as much. I dried the inks and then I added some splatter with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide ink. I dried my page again and then I splattered it with water and dabbed it with a paper towel. The water splatter reactivates the ink and the paper tower lifts it. So I ended up with some splotchy areas. Next is paste. I did something I do not usually dike to do. I added glitter! So, I used the Hocus Pocus Layering stencil with Ranger Distress Grit Paste, to create the star design, and then I covered the stars with Distress Rock Candy Glitter. The stars are created over the Distress Oxide Sprays, so they got a bit of colour from the page, but they also have a nice shine from the glitter. Next, I added more paste! I used the Stamperia Postcard stencil and Ranger Texture Paste to add some text details on my page. I left the paste to dry and then I splatter everything with Picket Fence Distress Paint (white). Once the paint was dry, I added more text details around the edges of the page, using stamps from the Tim Holtz Etcetera stamp set with Jet Black Archival ink. I used Black Soot Distress Oxide ink to darken the edges of the page, and my background was done! Time to prepare my images. I used the Sizzix Vault Wildflowers Thinlits set to cut some flowers out of black cardstock. I spritzed my flowers with Hickory Smoke Distress Spritz and I left them aside to dry. To ground my flowers, I tore two small stripes from Idea-Ology Backdrops paper. I used papers from the Volume #5 pack, but it could be just about any dark paper. I treated the edges of these paper stripes with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink and placed them on my page. I wanted some sort of insect to fly around my flowers, so I decided to use (for the first time) these Idea-Ology Transparent Moths. I used a stapler to attach them on my page and then I used my heat gun on them, to soften their wings and manipulate them. The Moths are practically plastic and the heat makes them curl, but also gives me a little bit of time to shape them as I want. If you try this out, make sure not to burn your fingers! My sentiment comes from the Idea-Ology Quote Chips Theories pack. I chose two sentiment chips and I removed a layer from the back of the chipboard, to make it a little thinner. Then I treated the edges with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink. I ended up rubbing my brown ink all over the surface of the chip, to take away the stark white and make it look aged. My sentiment says: &#8222;Make a wish. Light the way&#8220; and I think it fits nicely with my night, starry scene! I thought about adding more embellishments on this page, but I think it has enough on it already. Sometimes, the hardest part is to know when to stop! And that was the project for today! Ich habe mit dem Sizzix Vault Wildflowers Thinlits Set Blumen aus schwarzem Karton ausgeschnitten. Ich habe sie mit Hickory Smoke Distress Spritz bespr\u00fcht und zum Trocknen beiseite gelegt. Um meine Blumen zu grundieren, habe ich zwei schmale Streifen aus Idea-Ology Backdrops Papier gerissen. Ich habe Papier aus dem Volume #5 Pack verwendet, aber es h\u00e4tte auch jedes andere dunkle Papier sein k\u00f6nnen. Die R\u00e4nder dieser Papierstreifen habe ich mit Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Tinte behandelt und sie auf meine Seite gelegt. Ich wollte, dass ein Insekt um meine Blumen fliegt, also habe ich mich (zum ersten Mal) f\u00fcr diese transparenten Motten von Idea-Ology entschieden. Ich habe sie mit einem Tacker auf meiner Seite befestigt und anschlie\u00dfend mit der Hei\u00dfluftpistole bearbeitet, um ihre Fl\u00fcgel zu gl\u00e4tten und zu formen. Die Motten sind praktisch aus Plastik und die Hitze l\u00e4sst sie sich einrollen, gibt mir aber auch etwas Zeit, sie nach meinen W\u00fcnschen zu formen. Wenn ihr das ausprobiert, achtet darauf, euch nicht die Finger zu verbrennen! Mein Spruch stammt aus dem Idea-Ology Quote Chips Theories Pack. Ich habe zwei Spruch Chips ausgew\u00e4hlt und eine Schicht von der R\u00fcckseite der Chipplatte entfernt, um sie etwas d\u00fcnner zu machen. Anschlie\u00dfend habe ich die Kanten mit Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Tinte behandelt. Schlie\u00dflich habe ich meine braune Tinte \u00fcber die gesamte Oberfl\u00e4che des Chips gerieben, um das starke Wei\u00df zu entfernen und ihm ein gealtertes Aussehen zu verleihen. Mein Spruch lautet \u00fcbersetzt: \u201eW\u00fcnsch dir was. Leuchte den Weg\u201c und ich finde, er passt gut zu meiner n\u00e4chtlichen Sternenszene! Ich habe \u00fcberlegt, diese Seite noch weiter zu verzieren, aber ich denke, es ist schon genug davon vorhanden. Manchmal ist es am schwierigsten, den richtigen Zeitpunkt f\u00fcr den Schluss zu finden! Und das war das Projekt f\u00fcr heute! Es wurde Zeit, dass ich mir mal wieder die Finger mit Tinte vollschmiere. Ich mag es total, so chaotische Techniken zu malen! Ich wei\u00df, das ist nicht jedermanns Sache, aber es macht mich gl\u00fccklich, und beim Basteln geht es darum, gl\u00fccklich zu sein! Ich hoffe sehr, dass euch das heutige Projekt gef\u00e4llt!
