Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. I had this magical image in my head and I needed to get it out. It became today&#8217;s project. I forgot to use Gesso this time and the colours bled through the page, but there was no harm done to my book, luckily! That is what happens when I am too excited and can not wait to start the project&#8230; Never forget your Gesso!!! This time, I started by adding colour to my page. I used Lindy&#8217;s Magical pigment powders, in colours Emerald Eh?! and Maple Syrup Bronze. I mist the page with water, then I dusted the powders on the upper left and lower right corners and then I added more water to dilute the pigments. I dabbed off the excess and dried the page. These powders are so shiny and beautiful. After my page was dry, I added some texture, using the Carta Bella Season Greetings Swirls stencil with Ranger Black Opaque Texture Paste. I left the Paste to dry and then I used the same stencil with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink and I added more swirls, making them fade towards the middle part of the page. Next is stamping. The first stamp I used is a lacy flower pattern, by Stamping Fairies, which is unfortunately not available anymore. I used it with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink, because I felt like my page needed some blue. Then I used stamps from two Tim Holtz stamp sets, the &#8222;Foreboding&#8220; and the &#8222;The Poinsettia&#8220;, with Jet Black Archival ink, and I added quite a bit of visual texture. I know it looks messy, but that is what I wanted. To add a little bit more blue, I splattered my page with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Paint. I dried it and then I splattered again, with Picket Fence (white) Distress Paint. I have this beautiful AALL &amp; Create Lotus Clusters stamp set and I wanted to use it. The whole background reminds me a little bit of an enchanted lake and I thought that the Lotus flowers would look perfect on it. I stamped the Lotus clusters on watercolour paper with Jet Black Archival ink, and then I coloured them, using Distress Oxide inks as watercolours. I used Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Fired Brick and Mustard Seed, in different combinations, for the flowers. I used Scattered Straw with Vintage Photo for the flower centers and Rustic Wilderness with Mustard Seed for the leaves. I chose some phrases, trying to create a little story. I darken the edges of the little sticker strips, with my Jet Black Archival ink, and then I attached them to my page. The sentiment says: &#8222;She tried to remember&#8220;, &#8222;All the beautiful stars of the sky&#8220;, &#8222;the loveliest things&#8220;, &#8222;The Secret of Everyday Things&#8220;, &#8222;Wishing&#8220;, &#8222;she was herself again&#8220;. I think the final sentiment created a sense of longing in me. I think, very often, we need to take a moment and remember how to be ourselves again. I had a very good time working on this page! I really like messy projects. They create a sense of freedom in me. And I usually love the final result! What do you think? Do you like messy projects? Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. I had this magical image in my head and I needed to get it out. It became today&#8217;s project. I forgot to use Gesso this time and the colours bled through the page, but there was no harm done to my book, luckily! That is what happens when I am too excited and can not wait to start the project&#8230; Never forget your Gesso!!! This time, I started by adding colour to my page. I used Lindy&#8217;s Magical pigment powders, in colours Emerald Eh?! and Maple Syrup Bronze. I mist the page with water, then I dusted the powders on the upper left and lower right corners and then I added more water to dilute the pigments. I dabbed off the excess and dried the page. These powders are so shiny and beautiful. After my page was dry, I added some texture, using the Carta Bella Season Greetings Swirls stencil with Ranger Black Opaque Texture Paste. I left the Paste to dry and then I used the same stencil with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink and I added more swirls, making them fade towards the middle part of the page. Next is stamping. The first stamp I used is a lacy flower pattern, by Stamping Fairies, which is unfortunately not available anymore. I used it with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide ink, because I felt like my page needed some blue. Then I used stamps from two Tim Holtz stamp sets, the &#8222;Foreboding&#8220; and the &#8222;The Poinsettia&#8220;, with Jet Black Archival ink, and I added quite a bit of visual texture. I know it looks messy, but that is what I wanted. To add a little bit more blue, I splattered my page with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Paint. I dried it and then I splattered again, with Picket Fence (white) Distress Paint. I used Black Soot Distress Oxide ink to darken the edges of the page, and the background was done! Time to prepare my images. I have this beautiful AALL &amp; Create Lotus Clusters stamp set and I wanted to use it. The whole background reminds me a little bit of an enchanted lake and I thought that the Lotus flowers would look perfect on it. I stamped the Lotus clusters on watercolour paper with Jet Black Archival ink, and then I coloured them, using Distress Oxide inks as watercolours. I used Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Fired Brick and Mustard Seed, in different combinations, for the flowers. I used Scattered Straw with Vintage Photo for the flower centers and Rustic Wilderness with Mustard Seed for the leaves. I cut out my images, using my favourite Tim Holtz Recoil Snips, and then I attached them to my page. My sentiment comes from the Idea-Ology Clippings Sticker Book. I chose some phrases, trying to create a little story. I darken the edges of the little sticker strips, with my Jet Black Archival ink, and then I attached them to my page. The sentiment says: &#8222;She tried to remember&#8220;, &#8222;All the beautiful stars of the sky&#8220;, &#8222;the loveliest things&#8220;, &#8222;The Secret of Everyday Things&#8220;, &#8222;Wishing&#8220;, &#8222;she was herself again&#8220;. I think the final sentiment created a sense of longing in me. I think, very often, we need to take a moment and remember how to be ourselves again.
