Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. For today, I prepared an underwater scene in my art journal. As always, I started with the background. I was going to use quite a bit of water, so I gave my pages a good layer of Gesso in order to reenforce and protect them. To colour the pages, I used the reverse ink smooshing technique with Distress Inks. I applied the colours (one at a time) on an acetate sheet, I sprayed them with water and then I smooshed the acetate on my pages. I kept on repeating this process, always drying the colours between the applications, until I liked the result. My colours are: Tea Dye and Vintage Photo for the sand part, and Uncharted Mariner, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Salvaged Patina for the water part. I used the Vintage Photo and the Uncharted Mariner to splatter the pages, I dried them and then I splattered again with Picket Fence (white) Distress Paint.\u00a0 I wanted to add some big bubbles, so I used the Spots Layering stencil and Distress White Opaque Texture Paste on both pages. I left the paste to dry and then I added more splatter, this time with Peacock Feathers Distress Spritz. I have several SnipArt Chipboard pieces from different sets. My anchor comes from the Tropical Adventure \u2013 Anchors set, my seashells from the Sea Treasures \u2013 Shells \u2013 Large set, my crabs from the Tropical Adventure \u2013 Big Octopuses and my corals from the Tropical Adventure \u2013 Corals set. I coloured all these pieces with Distress Paints in several colours. I also added some White Opal Liquide Pearls on the seashells. I coloured the anchor with Lost Shadow Distress Paint, I left it to dry and then I used the pastes from the Finnabair Art Extravagence &#8211; Metal Rust Set on it. I handled these pastes with a spatula, and I made sure not to cover everything with them. The effect they create is amazing! I wanted to use more of that lovely rust! So, I applied the same pastes on a piece of mixed media paper, left it to dry and then I cut some pipes out of it, using the Sizzix Vault Industrial Thinlits set. I also love how the rust looks on these pieces. To add some fun to the mix, I used the Sizzix Under The Sea #2, Colorize Thinlits set and I cut the crab and the starfish images twice. I chose a black sentiment stripe, and I cut it in tow pieces. The sentiment says: &#8222;I need a six month vacation twice a year.&#8220; and I love it! Who wouldn&#8217;t like to have a six month long vacation twice a year? As a last little bit of embellishment, I added some dots with the Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops. Ich habe mehrere SnipArt Chipboard-Teile aus verschiedenen Sets. Mein Anker ist aus dem Set \u201eTropical Adventure \u2013 Anchors\u201c, meine Muscheln aus dem Set \u201eSea Treasures \u2013 Shells \u2013 Large\u201c, meine Krabben aus dem Set \u201eTropical Adventure \u2013 Big Octopuses\u201c und meine Korallen aus dem Set \u201eTropical Adventure \u2013 Corals\u201c. Ich habe alle Teile mit Distress Paints in verschiedenen Farben koloriert. Auf den Muscheln habe ich au\u00dferdem White Opal Liquide Pearls aufgetragen. Den Anker habe ich mit Lost Shadow Distress Paint koloriert, trocknen lassen und dann die Pasten aus dem Set \u201eFinnabair Art Extravagence \u2013 Metal Rust\u201c darauf aufgetragen. Ich habe diese Pasten mit einem Spachtel aufgetragen und darauf geachtet, nicht alles damit zu bedecken. Der Effekt ist unglaublich! Ich wollte mehr von diesem sch\u00f6nen Rost verwenden! Also habe ich die gleichen Pasten auf ein St\u00fcck Mixed-Media Papier aufgetragen, es trocknen lassen und dann mit dem Sizzix \u201eVault Industrial\u201c Thinlits Set einige Rohre daraus geschnitten. Mir gef\u00e4llt auch, wie der Rost auf diesen Teilen aussieht. Ich wollte ein paar lustige Charaktere hinzuf\u00fcgen, also habe ich die Krabben- und Seesternbilder aus dem Sizzix \u201eUnter dem Meer Nr. 2, Colorize\u201c Thinlits Set zweimal ausgeschnitten. Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. For today, I prepared an underwater scene in my art journal. I am going to start my Halloween projects right away, but I thought I should make at least one summer project \ud83d\ude1b Let\u2019s start with the materials I used: Materials(If something is not in stock,please simply click on \u201cProduct reminder\u201d\/ \u201cProdukterinnerung\u201d) This project is made in my small art journal. As always, I started with the background. I was going to use quite a bit of water, so I gave my pages a good layer of Gesso in order to reenforce and protect them. To colour the pages, I used the reverse ink smooshing technique with Distress Inks. I applied the colours (one at a time) on an acetate sheet, I sprayed them with water and then I smooshed the acetate on my pages. I kept on repeating this process, always drying the colours between the applications, until I liked the result. My colours are: Tea Dye and Vintage Photo for the sand part, and Uncharted Mariner, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Salvaged Patina for the water part. I used the Vintage Photo and the Uncharted Mariner to splatter the pages, I dried them and then I splattered again with Picket Fence (white) Distress Paint.\u00a0 I wanted to add some big bubbles, so I used the Spots Layering stencil and Distress White Opaque Texture Paste on both pages. I left the paste to dry and then I added more splatter, this time with Peacock Feathers Distress Spritz. I used Black Soot Distress Oxide ink to darken the edges of the pages, and my background was done! Time to prepare my images. I have several SnipArt Chipboard pieces from different sets. My anchor comes from the Tropical Adventure \u2013 Anchors set, my seashells from the Sea Treasures \u2013 Shells \u2013 Large set, my crabs from the Tropical Adventure \u2013 Big Octopuses and my corals from the Tropical Adventure \u2013 Corals set. I coloured all these pieces with Distress Paints in several colours. I also added some White Opal Liquide Pearls on the seashells. I coloured the anchor with Lost Shadow Distress Paint, I left it to dry and then I used the pastes from the Finnabair Art Extravagence &#8211; Metal Rust Set on it. I handled these pastes with a spatula, and I made sure not to cover everything with them. The effect they create is amazing! I wanted to use more of that lovely rust! So, I applied the same pastes on a piece of mixed media paper, left it to dry and then I cut some pipes out of it, using the Sizzix Vault Industrial Thinlits set. I also love how the rust looks on these pieces. To add some fun to the mix, I used the Sizzix Under The Sea #2, Colorize Thinlits set and I cut the crab and the starfish images twice. I placed those little troublemakers around the anchor and the pipes. My sentiment comes from the Idea-Ology Small Talk Snarky Sticker Book. I chose a black sentiment stripe, and I cut it in tow pieces. The sentiment says: &#8222;I need a six month vacation twice a year.&#8220; and I love it! Who wouldn&#8217;t like to have a six month long vacation twice a year? As a last little bit of embellishment, I added some dots with the Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter Drops. I think these dots look a lot like bubbles in the water! And that was the project for today! A little bit of summer before we move to Halloween. I will be honest, I love making for Halloween!
