Trick or Treat

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. I have a new Halloween art journal project to show you today. Something quick and easy and wicked. Let’s start with the materials I used:

For this project, I worked in a watercolour book, and I started with a good layer of Gesso. For my background, I used the Moon Mask with Distress Oxide sprays in colours Spiced Marmalade and Black Soot. I also added some splatter, using Harvest Moon Distress Mica Stain spray. My bats are made using the bat stencil from the Mini Layering Stencil Collection – Set 61 and Ranger Distress Black Opaque Texture Paste. I added some details using stamps from the Tim Holtz „The Obscure“ stamp set and Jet Black Archival ink. I used the same ink to darken the edges of the page, and the background was done!

Time to prepare my images. I used the mummy and the pumpkin bucket stamps from the Tim Holtz „Unraveled“ stamp set. I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and I coloured them with alcohol markers. To cut my images, I used my Tim Holtz Recoil snips, because they make this work so much easier!

My sentiment is cut with a cutting die from the Sizzix Bold Text Halloween Thinlits set. I cut it out of black cardstock, I discarded the letters and kept the outline. I placed it on the page and then I filled in the letter gaps with Glossy Accents. The sentiment says: „Trick or Treat“ a very common Halloween phrase. In the end, I also added some Idea-Ology Halloween Confections, just for fun.

And that was the project for today! I think I will make a little bit of Christmas in September, just because Christmas is also getting close. Hallo zusammen! Willkommen zurück zu einem weiteren Mixed-Media Projekt. Ich möchte euch heute ein neues Halloween Art-Journal Projekt zeigen. Etwas Schnelles, Einfaches und Böses! Beginnen wir mit den Materialien, die ich verwendet habe:

Für dieses Projekt habe ich mit einem Aquarellbuch gearbeitet und mit einer dicken Schicht Gesso begonnen. Für den Hintergrund habe ich die Moon Mask mit Distress Oxide Sprays in den Farben Spiced Marmalade und Black Soot verwendet. Außerdem habe ich mit Harvest Moon Distress Mica Stain Spray ein paar Spritzer hinzugefügt. Meine Fledermäuse habe ich mit der Fledermausschablone aus der Mini Layering Stencil Collection – Set 61 und Ranger Distress Black Opaque Texture Paste erstellt. Einige Details habe ich mit Stempeln aus dem Tim Holtz „The Obscure“ Stempelset und Jet Black Archival Ink hinzugefügt. Mit derselben Tinte habe ich die Ränder der Seite abgedunkelt, und fertig war der Hintergrund!

Zeit, meine Bilder vorzubereiten. Ich habe die Mumien- und Kürbiseimer-Stempel aus dem Tim Holtz „Unraveled“ Stempelset verwendet. Ich habe sie mit Memento Tuxedo Black Tinte gestempelt und mit Alkoholmarkern koloriert. Zum Ausschneiden habe ich meine Tim Holtz Recoil Schere verwendet, da sie die Arbeit enorm erleichtert!

Mein Spruch ist mit einer Stanzform aus dem Sizzix Bold Text Halloween Thinlits Set ausgestanzt. Ich habe ihn aus schwarzem Karton ausgeschnitten, die Buchstaben entfernt und die Umrisse beibehalten. Ich habe ihn auf die Seite gelegt und die Buchstabenlücken mit Glossy Accents ausgefüllt. Der Spruch lautet, überzetzt: „Süßes oder Saures“, ein sehr beliebter Halloween-Spruch. Zum Schluss habe ich noch ein paar Idea-Ology Halloween Confections hinzugefügt, einfach so zum Spaß.

Und das war das Projekt für heute! Ich denke, ich werde im September ein bisschen Weihnachten machen, einfach weil Weihnachten auch immer näher rückt.
