Vacation House

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another mixed media project. Our new challenge, at Stamping Fairies has begun and the theme is Vacation! Any project related to vacation is able to participate. So, I made a scene from a vacation house. And since vacation for me means sea, I made a beach house! Let’s start with the materials I used:

Materials

This was a relatively quick project made in my big art journal. As always, I started with the background. I needed some texture, so I used the Stamperia Bricks stencil with Ranger Texture Crackle Paste. I never use the whole stencil, just some parts of it on scattered spots on my page. After the Crackle Paste was dry, I added colour to my background, using Distress Paint in colours Mermaid Lagoon and Lost Shadow. I mixed the paint directly on my project, adding it unevenly so there would be some variation on the colour. After I dried the paint, I used a nail buffer to scrape some of the colour out of the areas with the Crackle Paste. And with that, my background was ready!

It was time to prepare my images. I chose this beautiful P13 Beyond the Sea Paper Pad and cut my images out of it. This is really good quality paper and it can take a lot of techniques on it, but I just used it for the images. I arranged everything on my page and then I glued them down using Multi Medium, making sure to cover the entire page with my glue. I needed to create a non porous surface and the Multi Medium is perfect for that! Once everything was dry, I used my Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens to add some extra colour and shadows. These pens have Indian ink and they dry permanent. When used on a non porous surface, they allow a few moments so I can actually smudge the colour. This kind of shading can also be done with Distress Crayons, again on a non porous surface, or with Distress Watercolour Pencils on a porous surface. If you do not like any of these mediums, you could always just use your ink pads and a stiff brush. There are so many ways to do this. You can simply choose what feels more comfortable to you.

My sentiment comes from the P13 Beyond the Sea Sentiment Sticker Set 01. It says “Life’s a Beach. Take a deep breath and relax”. Reading it, all I can think of is the salty smell of the sea, which really makes me happy!

Hallo zusammen! Willkommen zurück zu einem weiteren Mixed-Media-Projekt. Unsere neue Challenge bei Stamping Fairies hat begonnen und das Thema lautet Urlaub! Jedes Projekt rund um den Urlaub kann teilnehmen. Ich habe eine Szene aus einem Ferienhaus gemacht. Und da Urlaub für mich Meer bedeutet, habe ich ein Strandhaus gebaut! Beginnen wir mit den Materialien, die ich verwendet habe:

Dies war ein relativ schnelles Projekt, das ich in meinem großen Kunstjournal erstellt habe. Wie immer habe ich mit dem Hintergrund begonnen. Ich brauchte etwas Textur, also habe ich die Stamperia Bricks-Schablone mit Ranger Texture Crackle Paste verwendet. Ich verwende nie die ganze Schablone, sondern nur einige Teile davon an verstreuten Stellen auf meiner Seite. Nachdem die Crackle Paste getrocknet war, habe ich meinem Hintergrund Farbe hinzugefügt, indem ich Distress Paint in den Farben Mermaid Lagoon und Lost Shadow verwendet habe. Ich habe die Farbe direkt bei meinem Projekt angemischt und dabei ungleichmäßig aufgetragen, sodass es zu leichten Farbabweichungen kam. Nachdem ich die Farbe getrocknet hatte, habe ich mit einem Nagelpolierer etwas Farbe aus den Bereichen mit der Crackle Paste gekratzt. Und damit war mein Hintergrund fertig!

Zeit, meine Bilder vorzubereiten. Ich habe mich für diesen wunderschönen P13 Beyond the Sea-Papierblock entschieden und meine Bilder daraus ausgeschnitten. Das ist Papier von wirklich guter Qualität, auf dem viele Techniken angewendet werden können, aber ich habe es nur für die Bilder verwendet. Ich habe alles auf meiner Seite arrangiert und sie dann mit Multi Medium festgeklebt, wobei ich darauf geachtet habe, dass die gesamte Seite mit meinem Kleber bedeckt ist. Ich musste eine porenfreie Oberfläche schaffen und das Multi Medium ist dafür perfekt! Sobald alles trocken war, habe ich meine Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens verwendet, um zusätzliche Farbe und Schatten hinzuzufügen. Diese Stifte haben Tusche und trocknen dauerhaft. Bei der Anwendung auf einer nicht porösen Oberfläche erlauben sie ein paar Augenblicke Zeit, in denen man die Farbe tatsächlich verwischen kann. Diese Art der Schattierung kann auch mit Distress Crayons, wiederum auf einer nicht porösen Oberfläche, oder mit Distress Aquarellstiften auf einer porösen Oberfläche durchgeführt werden. Wenn euch eines dieser Medien nicht gefällt, könnt ihr jederzeit einfach eure Stempelkissen und einen harten Pinsel verwenden. Es gibt so viele Möglichkeiten, dies zu tun. Ihr könnt einfach wählen, was sich für euch angenehmer anfühlt.

Mein Spruch stammt vom P13 Beyond the Sea Sentiment Sticker Set 01. Dort steht: „Das Leben ist ein Strand. Atmen Sie tief ein und entspannen Sie sich.“ Beim Lesen kann ich nur an den salzigen Geruch des Meeres denken, der mich wirklich glücklich macht!
