Hocus Pocus

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. The Halloween obsession continues. I have a dark, ghostly project to show you today! Let’s start with the materials I used:

For this project, I used Distress Oxide inks on the background. My colours are Black Soot, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade. For my texture, I used the ribs stencil from the Mini Layering Stencil Collection – Set 61, with Ranger Distress Translucent Grit Paste. To add some text details, I used the stencil from the Tim Holtz „Rest in Peace“ Layering Stamps/Stencil set, with Ranger Distress Black Opaque Texture Paste. For the moon, I used the Tim Holtz Moon Mask with Mulled Cider Distress Mica Stain Spray. I added some Spiced Marmalade Distress Spritz, for some shine, and the background was done!

Time to prepare my images. I cut my images using the Sizzix Layered Jack-O-Lantern Thinlits set and the Sizzix Frightful Things Thinlits set. Everything is cut out of coloured or white cardstock. I used Distress Oxide inks in brown colours, to add some shadows and details to my images. Just look at that pumpkin! Isn’t he adorable???

My sentiment is cut out of black cardstock, using the Sizzix Bold Text Halloween Thinlits set. I stacked the letters on fun foam, to create more depth. I placed the sentiment on the moon, and I arranged the other images around it. The sentiment says: „Hocus Pocus“ and it is just perfect for Halloween! In the end, I added some more Spiced Marmalade Distress Spritz, because splatter and shine are never enough!

And that was the project for today! A little bit of change of pace today. Writing big texts does not work very well for me anymore. I always try to have all the details, but I end up with a lot of stress. That is why, texts will be shorter from now on. So, if you have any questions about the project, just let me know. Hallo zusammen! Willkommen zurück zu einem weiteren Mixed-Media Projekt. Die Halloween-Besessenheit geht weiter. Ich habe heute ein düsteres, gespenstisches Projekt für euch! Beginnen wir mit den Materialien, die ich verwendet habe:

Für dieses Projekt habe ich Distress Oxide Tinten für den Hintergrund verwendet. Meine Farben sind Black Soot, Mustard Seed und Spiced Marmalade. Für die Textur habe ich die Rippenschablone aus der Mini Layering Stencil Collection – Set 61 mit Ranger Distress Translucent Grit Paste verwendet. Um einige Textdetails hinzuzufügen, habe ich die Schablone aus dem Tim Holtz „Rest in Peace“ Layering Stamps/Stencil Set mit Ranger Distress Black Opaque Texture Paste verwendet. Für den Mond habe ich die Tim Holtz Moon Mask mit Mulled Cider Distress Mica Stain Spray verwendet. Für etwas Glanz habe ich etwas Spiced Marmalade Distress Spritz hinzugefügt, und fertig war der Hintergrund!

Zeit, meine Bilder vorzubereiten. Ich habe meine Bilder mit dem Sizzix Layered Jack-O-Lantern Thinlits Set und dem Sizzix Frightful Things Thinlits Set ausgeschnitten. Alles ist aus farbigem oder weißem Karton ausgeschnitten. Ich habe Distress Oxide Tinten in Brauntönen verwendet, um meinen Bildern Schatten und Details zu verleihen. Schaut euch nur diesen Kürbis an! Ist er nicht süß???

Mein Spruch ist aus schwarzem Karton ausgeschnitten, mit dem Sizzix Bold Text Halloween Thinlits Set. Die Buchstaben habe ich auf Fun Foam gestapelt, um mehr Tiefe zu erzeugen. Den Spruch habe ich auf den Mond gelegt und die anderen Bilder darum herum angeordnet. Der Spruch lautet: „Hocus Pocus“ und passt perfekt zu Halloween! Zum Schluss habe ich noch etwas Spiced Marmalade Distress Spritz hinzugefügt, denn Spritzer und Glanz sind nie genug!

Und das war das Projekt für heute! Heute mal etwas Abwechslung. Lange Texte zu schreiben, klappt bei mir nicht mehr so gut. Ich versuche zwar immer, alle Details zu berücksichtigen, aber das stresst mich dann total. Deshalb werden die Texte von nun an kürzer sein.
