Dear Santa

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. I took a break from Halloween, and I prepared a Christmas project for today. Because I love some Christmas cheer! Let’s start with the materials I used:

For this project, I worked on an Etcetera Thickboard Tag. I used Idea-Ology Backdrops paper to dress the tag, and I also created a second, red, tag sized piece. I sewed on this piece, I used Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink to add shading, and I added some text details. Then I splattered it with Tree Lot (green) Distress Mica Stain spray. For the upper piece (the third layer), I used a Mixed Media Heavystock Tag size #5. I used the stencil from the Tim Holtz Blueprint Christmas #1 Layering Stamps/Stencil set, with Distress Sparkle Texture paste on my little tag. Once the paste was dry, I added colour, using Rustic Wilderness and Scorched Timber Distress Stain sprays. I dried the inks and then I splattered the little tag with Yuletide (red) Distress Mica Stain spray. I put all the layers together, I added some Idea-Ology Screw Heads on the top and the bottom of the project, and the background was ready.

Time to prepare my images. Everything comes from the Idea-Ology Christmas 2023 Layers + Paper Dolls pack. I used the photo of the girl as my main image, and I added some green washi tape on the sides of it. This tape comes from the Idea-Ology Christmas 2024 Sticker Book. The poinsettias, the greeneries and the big 25 also come from the Idea-Ology Christmas 2023 Layers + Paper Dolls pack. I just arranged everything on the project.

My sentiment comes from the Idea-Ology Christmas 2024 Sticker Book. I chose two clippings and cut them in half. I attached them to paper I had coloured with Distress Oxide inks and I cut them out. I attached one of them on the top of the smaller tag, using an Idea-Ology Tiny Clip. The second one is attached under the girl’s photo. Together, the sentiment says: „Oh, dear Santa, did you just hear? Our hearts are filled with cheer“. I think the girl in this photo looks like her heart is filled with cheer! As a last little bit of embellishment, I added a few red and green Idea-Ology Christmas Droplets.

And that was the project for today! Just a little bit of Christmas before we go back to Halloween. I was considering die cutting pieces for this tag, but when I saw the pieces from the Christmas 2023 pack, I thought that I like them. They all had the same aesthetic, so I decided not to mix anything else with them. Sometimes it is nice to create a more cohesive image. I really hope you like today’s project! Hallo zusammen! Willkommen zurück zu einem weiteren Mixed-Media Projekt. Ich habe eine Halloween Pause eingelegt und für heute ein Weihnachtsprojekt vorbereitet. Ich liebe Weihnachtsstimmung! Beginnen wir mit den verwendeten Materialien:

Für dieses Projekt habe ich an einem Etcetera Thickboard Tag (Etikett) gearbeitet. Ich habe Idea-Ology Backdrops Papier verwendet, um das Etikett zu verzieren, und ich habe außerdem ein zweites, rotes Stück in der Größe eines Etiketts erstellt. Dieses Stück habe ich angenäht, mit Ground Espresso Distress Oxide-Tinte Schattierungen hinzugefügt und einige Textdetails ergänzt. Dann habe ich es mit Tree Lot (grün) Distress Mica Stain Spray bespritzt. Für das obere Stück (die dritte Schicht) habe ich ein Mixed Media Heavystock Tag der Größe Nr. 5 verwendet. Ich habe die Schablone aus dem Tim Holtz Blueprint Christmas #1 Layering Stamps/Stencil Set mit Distress Sparkle Texture Paste auf meinem kleinen Etikett verwendet. Nachdem die Paste getrocknet war, habe ich mit Rustic Wilderness und Scorched Timber Distress Stain Sprays Farbe hinzugefügt. Ich habe die Tinten getrocknet und dann das kleine Etikett mit Yuletide (rot) Distress Mica Stain Spray bespritzt. Ich habe alle Ebenen zusammengefügt, oben und unten am Projekt einige Idea-Ology Screw Heads hinzugefügt und der Hintergrund war fertig.

Zeit, meine Bilder vorzubereiten. Alles stammt aus dem Idea-Ology Christmas 2023 Layers + Paper Dolls-Paket. Ich habe das Foto des Mädchens als Hauptbild verwendet und an den Seiten grünes Washi-Tape angebracht. Dieses Tape stammt aus dem Idea-Ology Christmas 2024 Sticker Book. Die Weihnachtssterne, das Grünzeug und die große 25 stammen ebenfalls aus dem Idea-Ology Christmas 2023 Layers + Paper Dolls-Paket. Ich habe gerade alles für das Projekt arrangiert.

Mein Spruch stammt aus dem Idea-Ology Christmas 2024 Sticker Book. Ich habe zwei Ausschnitte ausgewählt und halbiert. Ich habe sie auf Papier geklebt, das ich mit Distress Oxide Tinten eingefärbt hatte, und sie dann ausgeschnitten. Einen davon habe ich mit einem Idea-Ology Tiny Clip oben auf dem kleineren Etikett befestigt. Den Zweiten habe ich unter dem Foto des Mädchens angebracht. Zusammen lautet der Spruch, übersetzt: „Oh, lieber Weihnachtsmann, hast du gerade gehört? Unsere Herzen sind voller Freude.“ Ich finde, das Mädchen auf diesem Foto sieht aus, als wäre ihr Herz voller Freude! Als letzte Verzierung habe ich ein paar rote und grüne Idea-Ology Christmas Droplets hinzugefügt.

Und das war das Projekt für heute! Noch ein bisschen Weihnachten, bevor es wieder Halloween gibt. Ich hatte überlegt, Teile für dieses Etikett auszustanzen, aber als ich die Teile aus dem Weihnachtspaket 2023 sah, fand ich sie sofort toll. Sie hatten alle die gleiche Ästhetik, also habe ich beschlossen, nichts anderes damit zu mischen. Manchmal ist es schön, ein stimmigeres Bild zu schaffen.
