Silence of the Night

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. October is nearly here. And October means Halloween! For today, I prepared a cute Halloween project. Let’s start with the materials I used:

For this project, I worked in a watercolour book, and I started by applying a good layer of Gesso. I used Ranger Clear embossing powder to heat emboss the big spider web from the Tim Holtz „Boo Crazy“ stamp set on my background. To colour the page, I used Distress Oxide sprays, in colours Black Soot, Uncharted Mariner, Seedless Preserves and Dusty Concord. I splattered the page with Picket Fence (white) Distress Paint and with Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide spray. Then I added some texture, using the Batground Layering stencil with Ranger Black Opaque Texture Paste. I splattered the page with Hocus Pocus Distress Mica Stain spray, and the background was done.

Time to prepare my images! My ghosts come from the Tim Holtz „Boo Crazy“ stamp set, and the rest of the images (the witch hats, the broom and the pumpkin) come from the Tim Holtz „Snarky Cat Halloween“ stamp set. They are stamped with Jet Black Archival ink and coloured with Distress inks in various colours. I cut them out, using the Tim Holtz Recoil Snips. These scissors are just amazing! My hands do not work as they used to and having the right tool for this job is important! I attached the images to the background, and then I used Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink with a stiff brush to add some shadow around them.

My sentiment comes from the Idea-Ology Curiosities Sticker Book. I chose several little sentences to create a little story. The sentiment says: „I don’t believe I ‚ll ever feel any creepier“, „the silence of the night“, „the howling of the wolves“, secret, black and midnight“, „My heart still drew me there!“. I think this little story is somewhat creepy and my ghosties are too cute, but it works! As a last little bit of embellishment, I added a few dots of Navy Blue Nuvo Crystal Drops.

And that was the project for today! I am going to try and make more Halloween projects in October. Maybe I could use some of those cute ghosts in Christmas projects too! Who knows! I think they are way too cute to be used just for Halloween… I really hope you like today’s project! I hope you got inspired! We will see each other again next Monday! Hallo zusammen! Willkommen zurück zu einem weiteren Mixed-Media Projekt. Der Oktober steht vor der Tür. Und Oktober bedeutet Halloween! Für heute habe ich ein süßes Halloween Projekt vorbereitet. Beginnen wir mit den Materialien, die ich verwendet habe:

Für dieses Projekt habe ich habe in einem Aquarellbuch gearbeitet und zunächst eine dicke Schicht Gesso aufgetragen. Mit Ranger Clear Prägepulver habe ich das große Spinnennetz aus dem Stempelset „Boo Crazy“ von Tim Holtz auf meinen Hintergrund heißgeprägt. Zum Kolorieren der Seite habe ich Distress Oxide Sprays in den Farben Black Soot, Uncharted Mariner, Seedless Preserves und Dusty Concord verwendet. Ich habe die Seite mit Picket Fence (weiß) Distress Paint und mit Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Spray bespritzt. Dann habe ich mit der Batground Layering Schablone und Ranger Black Opaque Texture Paste etwas Textur hinzugefügt. Ich habe die Seite mit Hocus Pocus Distress Mica Stain Spray bespritzt und der Hintergrund war fertig.

Zeit, meine Bilder vorzubereiten! Meine Geister stammen aus dem Stempelset „Boo Crazy“ von Tim Holtz, und die restlichen Bilder (die Hexenhüte, der Besen und der Kürbis) stammen aus dem Stempelset „Snarky Cat Halloween“ von Tim Holtz. Sie sind mit Jet Black Archivtinte gestempelt und mit Distress Tinten in verschiedenen Farben koloriert. Ich habe sie mit den Recoil Snips von Tim Holtz ausgeschnitten. Diese Schere ist einfach fantastisch! Meine Hände funktionieren nicht mehr so gut wie früher, und das richtige Werkzeug für diese Arbeit ist wichtig! Ich habe die Bilder auf dem Hintergrund befestigt und dann mit Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Tinte und einem steifen Pinsel etwas Schatten um sie herum erzeugt.

Mein Spruch stammt aus dem Idea-Ology Curiosities Sticker Book. Ich habe ein paar kurze Sätze ausgewählt, um daraus eine kleine Geschichte zu machen. Der Spruch lautet: „Ich glaube nicht, dass ich mich jemals gruseliger fühlen werde“, „Die Stille der Nacht“, „Das Heulen der Wölfe“, „Geheimnis, Schwarz und Mitternacht“, „Mein Herz zog mich immer noch dorthin!“. Ich finde diese kleine Geschichte etwas gruselig und meine Geister sind zu süß, aber sie funktioniert! Als letzte kleine Verzierung habe ich noch ein paar Punkte Navy Blue Nuvo Crystal Drops hinzugefügt.

Und das war das Projekt für heute! Ich werde im Oktober versuchen, weitere Halloween Projekte zu machen. Vielleicht kann ich einige dieser süßen Geister auch für Weihnachtsprojekte verwenden! Wer weiß! Ich finde sie viel zu süß, um sie nur für Halloween zu verwenden… Ich hoffe sehr, dass euch das heutige Projekt gefällt! Ich hoffe, ihr habt euch inspirieren lassen!
