Beware, foolish mortals

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. For today, I prepared a colourful Halloween project. It is interesting how colourful Halloween can be! Let’s start with the materials I used:

For this project, I worked on my small watercolour book. I used the Moon Mask and Distress Spray Stains in colours Shabby Shutter, Mermaid Lagoon and Wilted Violet, to create my background. I used some Antique Linen Distress Spritz, to give the moon some shine, and I also splattered the page with it. I added some details with the spider web stencil from the Tim Holtz „Ghost Town“ Layering Stamps/Stencil and whatever Distress ink was left on my brush (probably Milled Lavender). To add some creepy texture, I used the Twisted Layering stencil with Ranger Black Opaque Texture Paste on the bottom of the page. I darkened the edges of the page with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink, and the background was done.

Time to prepare my images! The main image, the girl, comes from the Idea-Ology Solos Paperdolls pack. Her wings come from the Idea-Ology Halloween 2024 Transparencies Pack. I placed her sitting on a pumpkin I made using the Sizzix Layered Jack-O-Lantern Thinlits set. I also cut some small autumn leafy branches with the Sizzix Vault Foliage Wreath Thinlits set. The rest of the pieces (the owl, the raven and the moths) come from the Idea-Ology Halloween 2024 Ephemera pack.

My sentiment comes from the Idea-Ology Halloween Label Stickers pack. I trimmed the stripes a little bit and placed them on my page. The sentiment says: „Beware“, „Foolish mortals“, and it looks appropriate. Imagin a ghostly figure, sitting on a pumpkin, judging everyone! Yeah, that’s what she is! In the end, I added some lines of Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops under the pumpkin, to ground it a little better. I also used the same Crystal Drops to add some dots around the sentiment.

And that was the project for today! When I think of Halloween, I always think of orange and brown colours. It is an autumn event, so it makes sense. But Halloween can be colourful! It is soo much fun to discover how colourful this season can be! I really hope you like today’s project! I hope you got inspired! We will see each other again next Monday! Für dieses Projekt habe ich an meinem kleinen Aquarellbuch gearbeitet. Für den Hintergrund habe ich die Moon Mask und Distress Spray Stains in den Farben Shabby Shutter, Mermaid Lagoon und Wilted Violet verwendet. Um dem Mond etwas Glanz zu verleihen, habe ich etwas Antique Linen Distress Spritz verwendet und die Seite damit bespritzt. Mit der Spinnennetzschablone aus den Tim Holtz „Ghost Town“ Layering Stamps/Stencils und der Distress Tinte, die noch auf meinem Pinsel war (wahrscheinlich Milled Lavender), habe ich einige Details hinzugefügt. Um eine gruselige Textur hinzuzufügen, habe ich die Twisted Layering Schablone mit Ranger Black Opaque Texture Paste am unteren Seitenrand verwendet. Die Ränder der Seite habe ich mit Black Soot Distress Oxide Tinte abgedunkelt und fertig war der Hintergrund.

Zeit, meine Bilder vorzubereiten! Das Hauptbild, das Mädchen, stammt aus dem Idea-Ology Solos Paperdolls Paket. Ihre Flügel stammen aus dem Idea-Ology Halloween 2024 Transparencies Paket. Ich habe sie sitzend auf einen Kürbis gesetzt, den ich mit dem Sizzix Layered Jack-O-Lantern Thinlits Set hergestellt habe. Außerdem habe ich mit dem Sizzix Vault Foliage Wreath Thinlits Set einige kleine herbstliche Zweige ausgeschnitten. Die restlichen Teile (die Eule, der Rabe und die Motten) stammen aus dem Idea-Ology Halloween 2024 Ephemera Paket.

Mein Spruch stammt aus dem Idea-Ology Halloween Label Stickers Pack. Ich habe die Streifen etwas zugeschnitten und auf meiner Seite platziert. Der Spruch lautet: „Vorsicht, ihr dummen Sterblichen“, und das sieht passend aus. Stellt euch eine geisterhafte Gestalt vor, die auf einem Kürbis sitzt und über alle urteilt! Ja, genau das ist sie! Zum Schluss habe ich noch ein paar Linien Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops unter den Kürbis gesetzt, um ihn etwas besser zu erden. Dieselben Crystal Drops habe ich auch verwendet, um ein paar Punkte um den Spruch herum zu setzen.

Und das war das Projekt für heute! Wenn ich an Halloween denke, denke ich immer an Orange und Braun. Es ist ein Herbstfest, also macht es Sinn. Aber Halloween kann auch bunt sein! Es macht so viel Spaß zu entdecken, wie farbenfroh diese Jahreszeit sein kann! Ich hoffe sehr, dass euch das heutige Projekt gefällt! Ich hoffe, ihr habt euch inspirieren lassen!
