Hello everyone! Welcome back to another mixed media project. This is the last project of the month and it follows the Stamping Fairies challenge theme, which is Vacation. Let’s start with the materials I used:

Materials

I worked with the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Vintage Seas collection for this project and I created a page in one of my big art journals. I started with some pages from the 6″X8″ paper pad and I tore parts of them. I glued the pieces of pattern paper on my page, using Multi Medium Matte. Of course, these pattern papers have really strong colours and I needed to tone them down. So, once the glue was dry, I used a brayer to unevenly apply some white gesso on the project. After that layer was dry, I applied a layer of clear gesso, creating a nice surface for my colour. Then, I used the Dylusions “Diamond in the Rough Small” stencil with Ranger Texture Crackle Paste, to create some more texture on the background. I left the Paste to dry and then I added a little bit of colour. For that purpose, I used Mermaid Lagoon Distress Paint. I applied the paint with a paint brush, I sprayed it with water and allowed it to run and spread, I dabbed the extra paint with a paper towel and then I dried my page. I used the same paint to splatter all over the page. And with that, my background was ready!

As my focal point, I used a photo of a baby sitting on the sand by the beach, wearing a huge hat. I framed the photo with a frame from the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Vintage Seas Chipboard Frames pack and I embellished the area around the frame with pieces from an Ephemera pack from the same collection. The edges of all of my pieces are treated with Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink. I arranged everything and then I glued them down, using my trusty Tonic Craft Tacky glue.

My sentiment also comes from the ephemera pack I used to embellish my page. It says “Let the sea set you free”. I really do believe in the therapeutic effect of the sea. I love how just the sound of the waves crashing can help anyone relax! So, this sentiment makes perfect sense for me. With all my pieces on the page, I used the Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink and a stiff brush to add some shadows around my images, just to make them stand out a little better.

And that was the project for today! I am really looking forward on spending some days by the sea! The time has nearly come! Hallo zusammen! Willkommen zurück zu einem weiteren Mixed-Media-Projekt. Dies ist das letzte Projekt des Monats und es folgt dem Thema der Stamping Fairies Challenge, nämlich Urlaub. Beginnen wir mit den Materialien, die ich verwendet habe:

Materialien

Ich habe für dieses Projekt mit der Simple Stories Simple Vintage Vintage Seas Kollektion gearbeitet und eine Seite in einem meiner großen Kunstjournals erstellt. Ich habe mit einigen Seiten aus dem 6 x 8 Zoll großen Musterpapierblock begonnen, von denen ich Teile abgerissen habe. Die habe ich mit Multi Medium Matte auf meine Seite geklebt. Natürlich haben diese Musterpapiere recht kräftige Farben und ich musste sie etwas abschwächen. Nachdem der Kleber getrocknet war, habe ich mit einer Walze etwas weißes Gesso ungleichmäßig auf das Projekt aufgetragen. Nachdem diese Schicht getrocknet war, habe ich eine Schicht klares Gesso aufgetragen, um eine schöne Oberfläche für meine Farbe zu schaffen. Dann habe ich die Dylusions „Diamond in the Rough Small“ Schablone mit Ranger Texture Crackle Paste verwendet, um etwas mehr Struktur auf dem Hintergrund zu erzeugen. Sobald die Paste trocken war, habe ich dann etwas Farbe hinzugefügt. Dafür habe ich Mermaid Lagoon Distress Paint verwendet. Ich habe die Farbe mit einem Pinsel aufgetragen, sie mit Wasser besprüht und sie verlaufen und sich verteilen lassen, die überschüssige Farbe mit einem Papiertuch abgetupft und dann meine Seite getrocknet. Ich habe die gleiche Farbe verwendet, um sie über die ganze Seite zu spritzen. Und damit war mein Hintergrund fertig!

Als Schwerpunkt habe ich ein Foto eines Babys verwendet, das im Sand am Strand sitzt und einen riesigen Hut trägt. Ich habe das Foto mit einem Rahmen aus dem Simple Stories Simple Vintage Vintage Seas Chipboard Frames Paket gerahmt und den Bereich um den Rahmen herum mit Teilen aus einem Ephemera Paket aus derselben Kollektion verziert. Die Kanten aller meiner Stücke sind mit Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Tinte behandelt. Ich habe alles arrangiert und dann mit meinem bewährten Tonic Craft Tacky Kleber festgeklebt.

Mein Spruch kommt von dem gleichem Ephemera Paket, mit dem ich meine Seite verschönert habe. Es heißt „Lass das Meer dich befreien“. Ich glaube an die therapeutische Wirkung des Sees. Ich liebe es, wie allein das Geräusch der Wellen jedem helfen kann, sich zu entspannen! Daher macht dieser Spruch für mich vollkommen Sinn. Bei allen meinen Teilen auf der Seite habe ich die Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Tinte und einen steifen Pinsel verwendet, um einige Schatten um meine Bilder herum hinzuzufügen, damit sie etwas besser hervorstechen.

Und das war das Projekt für heute! Ich freue mich schon sehr darauf, ein paar Tage am Meer zu verbringen! Es ist fast soweit!
