Good, Open Heart

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. I have a magically colourful project to show you today! I wanted a colourful and shiny result for this project and I knew just how to achieve this. Let’s start with the materials I used:

For today’s project, I made two Tags. I used Ranger Distress Heavyweight Tags and I covered them with clear Gesso. I dried the Gesso and then I added my texture, using the Deco Feather Layering stencil with Ranger Texture Paste Opaque Crackle. This Paste needs to be left to air dry, otherwise it does not crackle. So, I allowed my Paste to dry and then I added colour. I used Lindy’s Magical pigment powders in colours Delphinium Turquoise, French Lilac Violet and Milky Way White. I lightly sprayed the Tags with water and then I picked up the powders with a soft brush and dusted them over the Tags. I sprayed with more water to dilute the pigments, let the colours move and blend a little bit and then I dried the Tags. I mixed the Delphinium Turquoise and French Lilac Violet on my craft mat and I picked the colour up with a text stamp from the Tim Holtz The Poinsettia stamp set. I added the colourful text detail on my Tags and then I dried again. And with that, my backgrounds were ready!

Time to prepare my images. I cut a wreath, some foliage and flowers, all out of watercolour paper. For the wreath and some of the foliage, I used the Sizzix Vault Foliage Wreath Thinlits set. For my flowers and the rest of the foliage, I used the Sizzix Vault Floristry Sidekick Side-Order set. I coloured the wreath and all of the foliage pieces using the Canadia Bacon Blush Lindy’s Magical pigment powder. My flowers are also coloured with Lindy’s Magical pigment powders, in colours Gleaming Gold, Polite People Purple, French Lilac Violet and Delphinium Turquoise. I arranged my pieces on the Tags and then I splattered my project with Picket Fence Distress Paint (white) and with Sheer Shimmer Spritz Sparkle spray.

My sentiments come from the Idea-Ology Small Talk Sticker Book. I chose white sentiment strips and I attached them to the Tags. Then I used one of my Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens to outline the sentiment strips. The sentiments say: „No beauty shines brighter than that of a good heart“ and „Have an open heart. Make a difference“ and I find them both really beautiful! As a last little bit of embellishment, I added a few dots of Nuvo Ivory Seashell Crystal Drops.

And that was the project for today! I do not use pigment powders as often as I should. It is very interesting to see how the pigments break down when I add water. And I love the shiny colours! Hallo zusammen! Willkommen zurück zu einem weiteren Mixed-Media Projekt. Heute zeige ich euch ein zauberhaft buntes Projekt! Ich wollte ein farbenfrohes und glänzendes Ergebnis und wusste genau, wie ich es erreichen konnte. Beginnen wir mit den Materialien, die ich verwendet habe:

Für das heutige Projekt habe ich zwei Tags gemacht. Ich habe Ranger Distress Heavyweight Tags verwendet und sie mit klarem Gesso überzogen. Ich habe das Gesso getrocknet und dann meine Textur hinzugefügt, indem ich die Deco Feather Layering Schablone mit Ranger Texture Paste Opaque Crackle verwendet habe. Diese Paste muss an der Luft trocknen, sonst knistert sie nicht. Also habe ich meine Paste trocknen lassen und dann Farbe hinzugefügt. Ich habe Lindys Magical Pigmentpulver in den Farben Delphinium Turquoise, French Lilac Violet und Milky Way White verwendet. Ich habe die Tags leicht mit Wasser besprüht und dann das Pulver mit einem weichen Pinsel aufgenommen und über die Tags gestäubt. Ich habe mit mehr Wasser besprüht, um die Pigmente zu verdünnen, die Farben sich bewegen und ein wenig vermischen gelassen und dann habe ich die Tags getrocknet. Ich habe Delphinium Turquoise und French Lilac Violet auf meiner Bastelmatte gemischt und die Farbe mit einem Textstempel aus dem Stempelset „The Poinsettia“ von Tim Holtz aufgenommen. Ich habe die bunten Textdetails auf meinen Tags hinzugefügt und anschließend erneut getrocknet. Und damit waren meine Hintergründe fertig!

Zeit, meine Bilder vorzubereiten. Ich habe einen Kranz, Blätter und Blumen aus Aquarellpapier ausgeschnitten. Für den Kranz und einige Blätter habe ich das Sizzix Vault Foliage Wreath Thinlits Set verwendet. Für meine Blumen und die restlichen Blätter habe ich das Sizzix Vault Floristry Sidekick Side-Order Set verwendet. Ich habe den Kranz und alle Blätter mit dem Canadia Bacon Blush Lindy’s Magical Pigmentpulver gefärbt. Meine Blumen sind ebenfalls mit Lindy’s Magical Pigmentpulver koloriert, in den Farben Gleaming Gold, Polite People Purple, French Lilac Violet und Delphinium Turquoise. Ich habe meine Teile auf den Tags arrangiert und mein Projekt anschließend mit Picket Fence Distress Paint (weiß) und Sheer Shimmer Spritz Sparkle Spray bespritzt.

Meine Sprüche stammen aus dem Idea-Ology Small Talk Stickerbuch. Ich habe weiße Spruchstreifen gewählt und sie an den Tags befestigt. Anschließend habe ich die Streifen mit einem meiner Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens umrandet. Die Sprüche lauten, übersetzt: „Keine Schönheit leuchtet heller als die eines guten Herzens“ und „Hab ein offenes Herz. Bewege etwas.“ und ich finde sie beide wunderschön! Als letzte kleine Verschönerung habe ich noch ein paar Punkte mit Nuvo Ivory Seashell Crystal Drops hinzugefügt.

Und das war das Projekt für heute! Ich benutze Pigmentpulver nicht so oft, wie ich sollte. Es ist sehr interessant zu sehen, wie sich die Pigmente zersetzen, wenn ich Wasser hinzufüge.
