The Dead of Night

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another Mixed Media project. I prepared a Halloween Tag for today. This is an example of me just playing and ending up with a complete project! Let’s start with the materials I used:

For this project, I worked on a Distress Heavyweight Mixed Media Tag. For my background, I used the Tim Holtz Moon Mask with Distress Oxide inks, in colours Dried Merigold, Ripe Persimmon and Ground Espresso. To add some text details, I used the stencil from the Tim Holtz „Rest in Peace“ Layering Stamps/Stencil set with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink. To create the bats, I used the bat stencil from the Tim Holtz Mini Layering Stencil Collection – Set 61 with Ranger Black Opaque Texture Paste. I used Ground Espresso and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks to darken the edges of the Tag, and the background was done!
Time to prepare my images. Since I had the Tim Holtz „Rest in Peace“ Layering Stamps/Stencil set out, I decided to use images from the stamp set. I stamped the flower and the skull on mixed media paper, with Jet Black Archival ink. For colouring, I used the same Distress Oxide inks I used on the background. I applied the inks using a stiff brush. I cut the images out, with the help of the Tim Holtz Recoil Snips (because one need the right tools for a difficult job). Then I attached the images on the Tag.
My sentiment comes from the Idea-Ology Baseboards Halloween 2024 pack. There are similar sentiment pieces in older Baseboard Halloween packs as well. I just used what I had. I attached the sentiment piece on the bottom part of my Tag and then I added some Carnation Red Liquid Pearls under it. I also added the same Liquide Pearls on the top and on other spots on the Tag, making them look like dripping blood. The sentiment says: „In the dead of night“ and I think it fits perfect on this blood dripping Tag! As a last little bit of embellishment, I added a few black dots of Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops.
And that was the project for today! This was one of those weeks when I have no idea what I am going to do, until I start playing. And after I am done playing, I have a full project finished and I wonder how did this happen… Do you ever have experiences like this one? I do not hate it!!! Hallo zusammen! Willkommen zurück zu einem weiteren Mixed-Media Projekt. Für heute habe ich ein Halloween Tag vorbereitet. Dies ist ein Beispiel dafür, wie man einfach nur herumprobieren kann und am Ende doch ein komplettes Projekt hat! Beginnen wir mit den Materialien, die ich verwendet habe:

Für dieses Projekt habe ich an einem Distress Heavyweight Mixed Media Tag gearbeitet. Als Hintergrund habe ich die Tim Holtz Moon Mask mit Distress Oxide Tinten in den Farben Dried Merigold, Ripe Persimmon und Ground Espresso verwendet. Für Textdetails habe ich die Schablone aus dem Tim Holtz „Rest in Peace“ Layering Stamps/Stencil Set mit Black Soot Distress Oxide Tinte verwendet. Für die Fledermäuse habe ich die Fledermausschablone aus der Tim Holtz Mini Layering Stencil Collection – Set 61 mit Ranger Black Opaque Texture Paste verwendet. Die Ränder des Tags habe ich mit Ground Espresso und Black Soot Distress Oxide Tinten abgedunkelt, und fertig war der Hintergrund!
Zeit, meine Bilder vorzubereiten. Da ich das Tim Holtz „Rest in Peace“ Layering Stempel /Schablonen Set hatte, entschied ich mich, Bilder daraus zu verwenden. Ich habe die Blume und den Totenkopf mit Jet Black Archivtinte auf Mixed Media Papier gestempelt. Zum Kolorieren habe ich die gleichen Distress Oxide Tinten wie für den Hintergrund verwendet. Ich habe die Tinten mit einem steifen Pinsel aufgetragen. Die Bilder habe ich mit Hilfe der Tim Holtz Recoil Snips ausgeschnitten (denn für eine schwierige Arbeit braucht man das richtige Werkzeug). Anschließend habe ich die Bilder am Tag befestigt.
Mein Spruch stammt aus dem Idea-Ology Baseboards Halloween 2024-Paket. Ähnliche Spruchstücke gibt es auch in älteren Baseboard Halloween Paketen. Ich habe einfach verwendet, was ich hatte. Ich habe das Spruchstück unten an meinem Tag befestigt und darunter einige Carnation Red Liquid Pearls hinzugefügt. Dieselben Liquid Pearls habe ich auch oben und an anderen Stellen des Tags angebracht, sodass sie wie tropfendes Blut aussehen. Der Spruch lautet: „In der tiefsten Nacht“ und ich finde, er passt perfekt auf dieses bluttropfende Etikett! Als letzte Verzierung habe ich noch ein paar schwarze Punkte aus Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops hinzugefügt.
Und das war das Projekt für heute! Das war eine dieser Wochen, in denen ich keine Ahnung habe, was ich tun soll, bis ich anfange zu spielen. Und nachdem ich mit dem Spielen fertig bin, habe ich ein komplettes Projekt fertig und frage mich, wie das passieren konnte … Habt ihr auch schon mal solche Erfahrungen gemacht? Ich hasse es nicht!!! Ich denke, Spielen ist die beste Art, kreativ zu sein! Was meint ihr??? Ich hoffe sehr, dass euch das heutige Projekt gefällt! Ich hoffe, ihr habt euch inspirieren lassen!
