Hello everyone! I am Lia and I am here today with a new mixed media project. I am looking forward for the gardening season to start so I can have flowers and bees buzzing around! I really love bees and I made sure to put a lot of them in this art journal page! Let’s start with the materials I used:

Materials

I guess it became a custom by now, to always start with the background. I started by applying some Ranger Texture Crackle Paste through the Stamperia Bricks stencil on the lower right corner of my page. Then I added some colour. I smooshed the Distress Oxide inkpads on a piece of acetate, sprayed it with water and then smooshed the acetate on my page. I used Fossilized Amber on the lower right corner and Rustic Wilderness on the top left corner. Next, I mixed my Crackle Paste with some Dylusions Polished Jade paint and I applied it on the top left corner through the Stamperia Leaf stencil. After that, I simply left my page to dry. This was a quick and easy background!

It was time to prepare my images! I cut my beehives and my bees out of alcohol marker friendly paper, using the Buzzing Bees ‘Beehives’ and ‘Set of Bugs’ die sets. The ‘Beehives’ set is still available in the shop, but the ‘Set of Bugs’ no longer exists. My background flowers come from the ‘Snow Bells’ stamp set by Craft Emotions and they are stamped on rise paper. My branches come from the Stamperia ‘Writings & Branch’ High Definition Stamp and they are stamped on alcohol marker friendly paper. As you might have already realized, I coloured everything with alcohol markers. The little daisies come from the Sizzix ‘Bunny Games’ Thinlits set and they are coloured with Distress Oxide inks. They are actually leftovers from my previous project for Stamping Fairies and I thought they would look nice on this page, so I used them!

When I put this page together, I started with the ‘Snow Bell’ flowers. I chose to create them out of rise paper because I knew that it would disappear in the background. As you can see, it is not visible that my flowers are only roughly cut and there is still paper around them. That is the beauty of rise paper in mixed media! Next, I attached all the rest of my images. For the foreground, I mixed some of my Crackle Paste with a few Dylusions colours to turn it slightly brown. I applied it on the bottom of my page and then I attached the little daisies on top of it. When it tried, I dry brushed some Ground Espresso and Black Soot Archival ink over it. My sentiment comes from the Idea-Ology small Talk sticker block. It says “Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful” and I couldn’t agree more! I used my black Archival ink to darken the edges of my page and the project was ready!

Hallo zusammen! Ich bin Lia und ich bin heute mit einem neuen Mixed-Media-Projekt hier. Ich freue mich auf den Beginn der Gartensaison, damit ich Blumen haben und Bienen um sie herumschwirren sehen kann! Ich liebe Bienen wirklich und habe dafür gesorgt, dass viele von ihnen auf dieser Kunstjournalseite stehen! Beginnen wir mit den Materialien, die ich verwendet habe:

Ich schätze, es hat sich inzwischen eingebürgert, immer mit dem Hintergrund zu beginnen. Ich habe damit begonnen, etwas Ranger Texture Crackle Paste durch die Stamperia Bricks-Schablone in der unteren rechten Ecke meiner Seite aufzutragen. Dann habe ich etwas Farbe hinzugefügt. Ich habe die Distress Oxide-Stempelkissen auf ein Stück Acetat geglättet, mit Wasser besprüht und dann das Acetat auf meiner Seite geglättet. Ich habe Fossilized Amber in der unteren rechten Ecke und Rustic Wilderness in der oberen linken Ecke verwendet. Als nächstes habe ich meine Crackle Paste mit etwas Dylusions Polished Jade Paint gemischt und sie mit der Stamperia Leaf-Schablone auf die obere linke Ecke aufgetragen. Danach habe ich meine Seite einfach trocknen gelassen. Das war ein schneller und einfacher Hintergrund!

Zeit, meine Bilder vorzubereiten! Ich habe meine Bienenstöcke und meine Bienen aus alkoholmarkerfreundlichem Papier mit den Buzzing Bees „Beehives“ und „Set of Bugs“ Stanzsets gestanzt. Das Set „Beehives“ ist noch im Shop erhältlich, aber das „Set of Bugs“ existiert nicht mehr. Meine Hintergrundblumen stammen aus dem Stempelset „Schneeglöckchen“ von Craft Emotions und sind auf Reispapier gestempelt. Meine Zweige stammen von Stamperia ‘Writings & Branch’ High Definition Stamps und sind auf alkoholmarkerfreundlichem Papier gestempelt. Wie ihr vielleicht schon bemerkt habt, habe ich alles mit Alkoholmarkern koloriert. Die kleinen Gänseblümchen stammen aus dem Thinlits-Set „Bunny Games“ von Sizzix und sind mit Distress Oxide-Tinten gefärbt. Sie sind eigentlich Überbleibsel von meinem vorherigen Projekt für Stamping Fairies und ich dachte, sie würden auf dieser Seite gut aussehen, also habe ich sie verwendet!

Als ich diese Seite zusammenstellte, habe ich mit den ‘Snow Bell’-Blumen begonnen. Ich habe mich entschieden, sie aus Reispapier zu erstellen, weil ich wusste, dass es im Hintergrund verschwinden würde. Wie ihr sehen könnt, ist es nicht sichtbar, dass meine Blumen nur grob geschnitten sind und noch es Papier um sie herum gibt. Das ist das Schöne an Reispapier mit Mixed Media! Als nächstes habe ich den Rest meiner Bilder angehängt. Für den Vordergrund habe ich etwas meiner Crackle Paste mit ein paar Dylusions-Farben gemischt, um ihn leicht braun zu machen. Ich habe es unten auf meine Seite aufgetragen und dann die kleinen Gänseblümchen darauf angebracht. Als es getrocknet war, habe ich etwas Ground Espresso und Black Soot Archivtinte mit einen trockenen Pinsel darüber gebürstet.

Mein Spruch stammt aus dem Small Talk-Stickerblock von Idea-Ology. Es sagt “Das Leben muss nicht perfekt sein, um wunderbar zu sein” und ich könnte nicht mehr zustimmen! Ich habe meine schwarze Archivtinte verwendet, um die Ränder meiner Seite abzudunkeln, und das Projekt war fertig!
